“Your support is vital because it assures us we are getting across the right message from an outside perspective. Sometimes the smallest edits can make the biggest difference.  Thanks for making our proposals clear, concise, and persuasive—and doing this with tight deadlines.”

Editing Highlights

A few of our success stories…

Viterbi School of Engineering—University of Southern California
The Viterbi School of Engineering needed help in preparing proposals for the National Science Foundation and asked us to work on four proposals simultaneously.  Our two editors worked closely with each principal investigator (PI) to ensure that content addressed the RFP, rewrote sections to highlight proposal features and benefits, streamlined text to meet page limits, and edited text for clarity, conciseness, and accuracy.  Two proposals were accepted.  We’ve been asked to continue our proposal support with Viterbi proposals for  2009.

“I went through your edits and as usual accepted about 99% of them. . . thanks for the great and thorough job and your hard and superb work.” - Dr. Shahabi, USC Viterbi School

 Columbus Technologies, Pasadena, California
Since 2004, we’ve worked with Columbus, editing their proposals for government contracts.  Columbus has more than a 90% award rate.  Columbus depends on us to review, rewrite, edit, and proof proposals within a week’s turnaround.  We always make these deadlines.

Epson - Exceed Your Vision  Seiko-Epson, Suwa, Nagano, Japan
Japanese-based company Seiko-Epson needed two user manuals for their high-end printers rewritten from a roughly translated Japanese text for English-speaking customers.  We worked with their head documentation manager in Nagano, Japan, to determine scope of work, schedule, and deliveries.  Based on our scope-of-work proposal, we rewrote text, reformatted layout to accommodate side-by-side screen shots and instructions, condensed feature-benefits-usage text into table format, clarified step-by-step instructions and developed indexes.  We produced an easy-to-follow manual and reduced text by 30 percent, fulfilling one of Seiko-Epson’s cost-reducing goals.

When the Federal Express’s training department designed a company-wide writing program, they asked us to review their course curriculum and materials.  After reviewing the materials, we suggested changes to their training approaches—emphasizing the writing process, developing progressive skill building exercises, and incorporating in-workshop writing exercises.  Our report was well received; we had given the right feedback they needed.  The training department incorporated our changes and sent us praise for making their program a success.
